Vanessa Hetherington
Associate Director
RPS
Vanessa is an Associate Director in the Cost Advisory team for RPS. She is an RICS Chartered Quantity Surveyor and has experience in both Australia and the UK, delivering successful outcomes for clients. She has a wealth of experience working across different sectors including commercial, rail, defence, water, education, residential and leisure. Vanessa is an advocate for equity, diversity and inclusion and has been involved in a volunteering capacity for several organisations including NAWIC and Women of Colour Australia (WoCA).
In 2023/2024 Vanessa was a member of the D&I committee for NAWIC where she took on the role of project manager for the ‘Not So Little Things’ construction survey. This survey was the first step in generating important data to understand more about how microaggressions were (and still are!) impacting women in the construction industry.
Vanessa also was part of Women of Colour Australia (2021 to 2024) where she volunteered as the Grants Team Lead. She was successful in securing various grants which are vital to provide WoCA the ability to create mentoring and executive leadership programmes for Women of Colour, helping to provide them with the tools to reach their full potential. Due to her work at WoCA Vanessa was nominated for the 2022 NSW Volunteer of the year.
